The Nolensville Historical Society is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization which was established in 2001.
With the 1972 Nolensville Elementary School building being utilized as the new recreation center for the community, the Nolensville Historical Society took a look at saving the structurally sound building of the 1930's which served first as a school for many Nolensville residents.
At a well attended public meeting at Jenkins Cumberland presbyterian Church in December 2009, many enthusiastic suggestions were made for restoration of the building for eventual use as a community center. The intended use would not duplicate the Williamson County Recreation Center.
The Historic Nolensville School was added to the National Register of Historic Places in March 2012; a very proud day for the Nolensville Historical Society and a great day for the Nolensville community.
